We are looking for a Director of Internal Communications to join our dynamic Corporate Affairs and Communications team. This critical senior leadership role will lead and shape how we engage and support our 52,000 colleagues, as the business continues to progress its ambitious and exciting transformation plan.

What You’ll Do
- Strategy Development: Design and execute comprehensive modern internal communications and channel strategies that strengthen engagement and align colleagues with our business priorities and transformation plan.
- Communications Creation: Lead the development of modern, innovative, tailored communications for our internal audiences, designing creative campaigns that maximise interaction, engagement and impact.
- Business Partner and Leadership Advisor: Be an expert partner and advisor to senior leaders, guiding them in driving their transformation agendas and achieving business and people goals. Deliver expert guidance on positioning, messaging, change management initiatives, and other essential developments.
- Issues management: Formulate strategic plans and deploy clear communication to keep colleagues informed and supported.
- Strong Leadership: Inspire and lead a team of 10+ communications specialists, cultivating a best-in-class internal communications function. Play a key role as a senior leader in the wider function, helping to shape its development and progress.
What We’re Looking For
- Senior Internal Communications Experience: 12+ years' experience leading internal communications in large-scale consumer businesses. Expertise developing and executing strategies to engage store or remote-based colleagues would be a significant advantage.
- Leadership Skills: Proven experience in leading teams through transformative change, driving pace and agility, and with exceptional stakeholder management abilities.
- Strategic Thinking: A strong track record of developing robust internal communications strategies at a company and functional level and developing measurement frameworks that align with business goals.
- Business Acumen: A deep understanding of commercial drivers, with the ability to connect internal communications to overarching business objectives.
- Retail Experience: Demonstrated success in delivering effective internal communications within retail/consumer environments, particularly with a store/warehouse/operations-based workforce.
- Exceptional Communication Skills: Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to adapt your tone for diverse audiences and channels. Strong creative skills to maximise impact of communications. Experience leading a multi-channel strategy and embedding a modern publishing approach using multiple creative assets, to increase impact and engagement.
- Technological Proficiency: Familiarity with the latest digital tools to enhance internal communications performance and engagement.
This role can be based either in Nottingham or London (travel to both locations will be required).
