Boots is embarking on a huge Digital Transformation, one which will over‐haul our digital capabilities, upgrading tools, systems and processes to better serve customers and colleagues. This role owns the overall business delivery plan, ensuring readiness for go‐live. This role is critical to ensuring the Digital Transformation programme lands successfully for both our business teams and our customers. This role will be responsible for co‐ordinating and reporting on all associated business transition activities for a sub‐section of the project.

You will work closely with specialists in Business Change, Business Architecture, Product and our business SMEs to ensure all activities are identified and organised into the business delivery plan for both the boots.com and boots.ie go‐live. You will ensure these plans are delivered, identifying and addressing risks and issues as needed, working closely with the Condor & Digital leadership teams. The role reports to the Head of Business Transition. The role has 1 or 2 direct reports.

Core Responsibilities include:

  • Accountable for the overall business delivery plan for the tribe, including timeline, milestones, dependencies and outcomes.
  • Owns the RAID, decision and escalation framework for the tribe.
  • Acts as the single point of accountability for business readiness into go‐live.
  • Builds and owns the stakeholder map for the tribe, in partnership with Change.
  • Leads engagement with senior stakeholders (Product, Architecture, Business Leads, Change, Programme).
  • Chairs key tribe forums and facilitates decision‐making, trade‐offs and prioritisation.
  • Owns RAG status for the tribe and defines mitigation strategies for Amber/Red items.
  • Escalates risks, issues and decisions to Head of Business Transition / Programme Board / Release Boards as required.
  • Ensures governance standards are met across planning, reporting and controls.
  • Provides a weekly senior update covering progress, risks, dependencies and decisions required which will then be fed into Programme Board.
  • Represents the tribe in cross‐tribe and programme‐level forums.
  • Signs off readiness outputs prior to go‐live.
  • Owns business resource demand for the tribe and works with SMEs and Head of BT to secure sign‐off.

What you'll need to have:

  • You are extremely organised and experienced in project and/or programme management.
  • Must have experience of creating and managing large complex plans involving multiple teams/functions and a wide variety of different activities including technology implementation.
  • Able to work effectively in a fast‐paced environment with rapidly changing priorities, and challenging stakeholders.
  • Confident, flexible and unflappable and will challenge when deadlines are not met or standards not achieved.
  • Excellent communication skills (written and oral) and good attention to detail.
  • Great at bringing a cross‐functional group together, and leading/facilitating the group to work through potential problems or barriers.
  • Works well with others and experienced in working cross‐functionality with a diverse range of people – including effectively holding others to account when needed.
  • Able to follow guidelines & processes but know when these can/should be flexed.
  • Experience of project and programme management methodologies.
  • Confident user of PowerPoint, MS Teams, Sharepoint and Excel.

It would be great if you also have:

  • Ideally have completed (or working towards) MSP practitioner or similar (e.g. APM practitioner).
  • Experience using JIRA / Confluence.
  • Knowledge of APMG International Change Management, Lean Six Sigma and Agile methodologies is beneficial.
