Boots is embarking on a huge Digital Transformation, one which will overhaul our digital capabilities, upgrading tools, systems and processes to better serve customers and colleagues. This role supports the Digital Project Manager, who owns the overall business delivery plan, ensuring readiness for go live.

This role is critical to ensuring the Digital Transformation programme lands successfully for both our business teams and our customers. This role will support the Digital Project Manager by driving day-to-day delivery, tracking and coordinating business readiness activities for the tribe and ensuring plans are executed and issues surfaced early.

You will work closely with specialists in Business Change, Business Architecture, Product and our business SMEs to ensure all activities are identified and organised into the business delivery plan for both the boots.com and boots.ie go live. You will ensure these plans are delivered, identifying and addressing risks and issues as needed.

The role reports to the Digital Project Manager. The role has no direct reports.

Core responsibilities include:
  • Builds and maintains the detailed business readiness plan for the tribe.
  • Owns day-to-day management of actions, dependencies, milestones and deliverables.
  • Maintains the RAID and decision log, ensuring accuracy and timely updates, flagging emerging risks, slippage or resourcing issues early to the Manager.
  • Organises and supports weekly tribe meetings (agenda creation, materials, minutes, actions).
  • Tracks follow-ups from previous meetings and ensures actions are closed.
  • Prepares content for hot topics, risks or decisions needing escalation.
  • Works with SMEs to gather inputs on processes, ways of working, training, UAT, cutover and support.
  • Tracks readiness inputs across change, business architecture, training, comms, implementation, testing and tech partners.
  • Produces weekly tribe-level status updates which will be fed into Release Weekly, and supports the senior report for Programme Board.
  • Supports RAG assessments with evidence and data.
  • Acts as the day-to-day point of contact for tribe stakeholders.
  • Coordinates across Product, Architecture, Change, Business SMEs and delivery teams to keep momentum.
  • Supports the Manager in preparing materials for senior forums and escalations.
What you'll need to have:
  • You are extremely organised and have some experience in project and/or programme management.
  • Able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment with rapidly changing priorities, and challenging stakeholders.
  • Confident, flexible and unflappable and will challenge when deadlines are not met or standards not achieved.
  • Excellent communication skills (written and oral) and good attention to detail.
  • Great at bringing a cross-functional group together, and leading/facilitating the group to work through potential problems or barriers.
  • Works well with others and experienced in working cross-functionally with a diverse range of people.
  • Some experience of project and programme management methodologies.
  • Confident user of PowerPoint, MS Teams, SharePoint and Excel.
It would be great if you also have:
  • Any external Project Management qualifications / training. E.g. MSP Practitioner, Prince 2, etc.
  • Experience using JIRA / Confluence.
