We are looking for a Solution Architect to join our Business Services Technology team, reporting to the Business Technology Manager for Business Services. As a Solution Architect, you will collaborate with internal and external teams to understand requirements and create suitable high-level designs. You will review detailed designs from partners and test the conformance of the implementation to the business requirements, agreed design standards, design deliverables, and delivery approach, observing architecture principles and guidelines. You'll be joining the team at an exciting time for Business Services as there are several key transformational projects that are due to commence.

Key responsibilities:

  • Assessment of business ideas: Support assessment of business ideas, project scoping, feasibility analysis (systems-based or other), and presenting options fitting within either a strategic or tactical lens. Apply current technology, tools, and techniques according to established standard practices. Assist with the investigation and cataloguing of functional and non-functional requirements, ensuring they align with the outline design and scope. Challenge, where relevant, to ensure requirements align with a 'value' driven approach. Provide ad-hoc technical/administrative support and creation of business applications.
  • End-to-end solution design: Support the Enterprise Architecture in developing outline designs. Be accountable for being the hands-on lead throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring: Produce end-to-end solution designs and documentation. All solution designs meet business requirements, align with strategy and architecture, are cost-effective, deliverable, and supportable. Supervise and review detailed designs produced by other resources, partners, and third parties to ensure build and test deliver quality assurance. Provide technical leadership and assume overall design accountability within a project.

You will have no line management duties.

What you'll need to have:

  • Experience leading end-to-end solution design / being the technical lead with multiple partners.
  • A broad understanding of IT capabilities, methods, and technologies.
  • In-depth experience in developing IT solutions.
  • Passion for keeping up with IT trends.
  • Knowledge of processes in relevant departments (e.g., Finance, HR, Ecommerce, Product Development).

Desirable skills or experience:

  • Knowledge of SAP S/4HANA.
  • Public Cloud technologies - Azure Cloud, including IaaS, PaaS, SaaS products like Azure App Services and Azure databases.
