What you'll be doing: As an Insights Manager you will be part of the Beauty Insights Boots UK team based in Nottingham who are instrumental in supporting our great Beauty brands and categories grow their business through customer, market and performance insights. You’ll be leading Research projects & leveraging our suite of insights tools/platforms available to deliver strategic insights and solutions. You will work with a wide range of stakeholders across our Beauty business to drive commercial advantage by putting the customer at the heart of the decision‑making process. A strong focus on development across the wider team will provide opportunities and support for considerable personal growth and progression to becoming a well‑rounded insight professional. Our ideal candidates will have a mix of commercial understanding, excellent Research skills and a passion for turning insight into action.
Key responsibilities:
- Research partner to our Beauty commercial and marketing teams supporting them in developing their activity, shaping the future of our business.
- A passion for insights, ensuring customer understanding is at the heart of decision making, strategy and activation.
- Capturing, synthesising and communicating the reality of customer behaviour, beliefs, attitudes and motivations; applying these insights to ensure an unmatched Beauty proposition.
- Utilising the suite of insight tools/platforms available and working with external agencies.
- Support our commercial teams to run research paid for by suppliers, ensuring it is fully compliant with best practice business process and GDPR.
- Working closely with key senior stakeholders to advise on best insight solutions and champion the voice of the customer.
- Identify and drive the business performance through holistic provision of insight, seamlessly integrating different research, customer and market sources.
- Contribute to a culture of innovation, pushing boundaries and confidence to explore new ways of working.
What you’ll need to have (our must‑haves):
- Highly experienced in Research (both Qualitative and Quantitative) with at least 5 years’ Research/Insights Manager experience in client‑side, agency or consultancy roles.
- End to End Research management experience – working with agency partners to deliver research projects: understanding the business question, developing the brief, agency selection & management, overseeing every step of the project through to a quality output and debrief.
- Knowledge of wider market and customer trends that are influencing retail landscape and associated data sources.
- Experience in selecting, analysing and synthesising multiple sources of insight & data, translating these into tangible learnings & recommendations.
- Excellent storytelling skills and an ability to adapt your communication style and approach to inspire people to take your ideas on board and land insight with impact.
- A proven track record in managing stakeholders, influencing and driving business direction and commercial decisions.
- The ability to see the bigger picture, you will understand what makes a business tick.
- Excellent project management skills and ability to prioritise tasks and workload.
- Experience in either Retail environment and/or Beauty categories would be advantageous.
