About the role:

Are you a GP looking for a role that combines clinical excellence with innovation, flexibility and the opportunity to shape the future of digital healthcare? Boots Online Doctor is looking for an experienced and patient-focused General Practitioner to join our growing Digital Healthcare Team. Working in a hybrid model, you'll provide high-quality care through online consultations while also supporting our Duty Doctor service, helping to ensure safe, responsive clinical decision-making across the wider team. This is a varied role where no two days are the same. You'll care for patients across a broad range of online healthcare services, collaborate with an experienced multidisciplinary team, and play an active role in developing one of the UK's leading digital healthcare platforms. Whether you're consulting directly with patients or supporting colleagues as the Duty Doctor, you'll have the opportunity to make a real impact while enjoying the flexibility of a modern way of working.

Key responsibilities:

  • Deliver safe, evidence-based care through online consultations, including some video and telephone appointments.
  • Undertake Duty Doctor responsibilities, providing timely clinical support and guidance to the wider Digital Healthcare Team.
  • Assess and prescribe where clinically appropriate, in line with national guidance and Boots clinical governance standards.
  • Adhere to our clinical protocols and prescribing guidelines.
  • Use our secure digital platform for all patient interactions and clinical documentation.
  • Participate in clinical meetings, training sessions and ongoing professional development.
  • Contribute to service development and continuous improvement initiatives that enhance patient care and the digital healthcare experience.
  • Maintain your GMC registration, licence to practise, appraisal requirements and continuing professional development (CPD).

What you'll need to have:

  • Full registration with the General Medical Council (GMC) and a current licence to practise.
  • GP qualification (CCT or equivalent) and inclusion on the GMC GP Register - ideally 5 years post CCT.
  • Excellent clinical judgement with confidence in making autonomous decisions while recognising when to seek support or collaborate.
  • A passion for delivering high-quality, patient-centred care through innovative digital healthcare services.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to build rapport and adapt your approach to meet patients' individual needs.
  • Comfortable using telehealth platforms and electronic health records, with a willingness to embrace new technologies and ways of working.

It would be great if you also have:

  • Experience working in online-only or hybrid clinical settings.
  • Familiarity with digital tools such as online consultation platforms, Slack, Google Workspace and Chrome.
  • Experience managing common medical conditions, women's health, men's health, weight management, dermatology, mental health or other digital healthcare services.
  • An interest in contributing to the continuous improvement of digital healthcare products and patient experience.

Rewards designed for you:

  • Pension membership (PRSA)
  • Partial paid maternity leave
  • Discretionary annual bonus
  • Generous employee discounts
  • Flexible benefits scheme
