Dispensing Optician in Farnham

As a qualified Dispensing Optician, you will be providing a high level of customer care and expert advice to make a real difference to our customers and keep them coming back. You will work in one of our stores, reporting to the Store Manager.

Key responsibilities:

• Providing clinical support in store for regulated dispensing.
• Inspiring your Optical team by sharing your knowledge to offer the very best service.
• Listening to the needs of customers and offering expertise and advice.
• Helping our customers to choose the correct eyewear and offering guidance to ensure they receive the best product suited to their needs.
• Supporting the team to deliver an efficient model day and operational processes to ensure that the business trades legally.
• Providing expert knowledge for patients with more specialist requirements.

What you’ll need to have (our must-haves):

• Registered with the General Optical Council (GOC).
• Passion for your own learning and development, completing all CPD training as part of the GOC requirement.

It would be great if you also have:

• Ability to embrace new technologies.

Need To Know:

• Contract: Permanent.
• Hours: Full-time, Monday – Sunday, with weekend working required (ideally every weekend or every Saturday).
• Location: Farnham, Surrey.

Services delivered in store: This free-standing store delivers a range of NHS and private optical services and will soon benefit from Optomap technology, with a new pre-screening room due to be launched in July.

Team structure: You will join a settled, hardworking and friendly team, including a part-time Resident Optometrist, with additional support from Mobile Optometrists across the local hub. The store has 2 testing rooms plus a dedicated Hearingcare room, and 25-minute testing times to support excellent patient care.

This is an excellent opportunity for a Dispensing Optician looking to join an amazing team to help drive the continued success of the business. Saturdays are a particularly important day with a strong family and children's patient demographic so will be required. The store is well connected, located approximately 10 minutes from Farnham train station with good local bus links. Several local car parks are within walking distance.
