Are you a proven retail leader who thrives at scale, brings out the best in large teams and is ready to step into a flagship environment? At Boots Opticians, this is more than a Store Manager role – it’s an opportunity to shape a high-profile store where performance, patient care and brand experience come together, and where the care your team delivers makes a real difference to how people see and feel every day.
Our flagship stores showcase the very best of Boots. They’re where new ideas land first, where standards are set, and where strong leadership is felt across every part of the store. With a large, well-established team and a fast-moving environment, this is your chance to set the tone, build momentum and deliver outstanding results.
This is a hands-on leadership role with real influence. You’ll be visible on the shop floor, supporting your team through busy days, coaching in the moment and creating an environment where people feel confident to do their best work. You’ll balance commercial performance with exceptional patient care, working closely with senior stakeholders and using insight to keep improving how the store performs.
We’re looking for someone who is comfortable leading at scale, with proven experience managing large teams (ideally 20+ colleagues) and the credibility to bring people with them. Optics experience is welcome, but not essential – what matters most is your ability to lead, deliver and create a strong, supportive team culture in a high-profile setting.
In return, you’ll step into a well-supported, high-performing environment where you can make your mark and continue to grow your career within Boots.
If you’re ready to lead from the front, build a team people are proud to be part of and deliver a store experience customers can trust, we’d love to hear from you.
What you’ll need to have:
- Proven experience leading in a large, fast-paced, high-volume retail environment
- A strong track record of leading and developing sizeable teams (ideally 20+ colleagues)
- The ability to deliver strong commercial performance alongside exceptional customer and patient care
- Confidence in owning a complex operation, making decisions and keeping things moving in a busy environment
- Strong operational understanding, with the ability to bring plans to life and maintain high standards
- A visible, hands-on leadership style, building trust and credibility with your team day to day
- The ability to engage and align teams around clear goals, creating a positive and high-performing culture
- A calm, adaptable approach, able to stay focused and supportive even when the pace picks up
It would be great if you also have:
- Experience leading in a flagship, high-profile or particularly busy store environment
- Optics experience or exposure to healthcare or service-led retail
- A track record of spotting potential and developing future leaders within your team
- Confidence using data and insight to identify opportunities and improve performance
