We have an excellent opportunity for the right person to gain commercial experience in a corporate Sourcing/Buying function. This is a 6 month-fixed term contract and would suit somebody eager to learn and establish relationships within the broader business.
Key responsibilities:
- The Boots Group Global Sourcing team are responsible for the strategic sourcing of products from ethically and sustainable validated sources and plays a critical role in enabling the delivery of The Boots Groups Own Brand Product Portfolio.
- The Buying Assistant is a critical role within the EU Global Sourcing team and supports the Buying team in all aspects of managing sourcing and commercial activities.
- You will be responsible for supporting the team in developing and executing category sourcing strategies, delivery of profit improvement initiatives, continually leading the development and improvement of ways of working, and the creation and reporting of functional management (MI) & Business information (BI).
- The role requires competent use of Excel skills, including advanced formulas such as VLOOKUP, pivot tables, and data manipulation.
- The role includes partner, customer and supplier relationship management and therefore excellent communication skills are essential.
- Of high importance is the ability to use your own initiative, take responsibility and accountability in all that you do.
