The salary for this role is £12.60 per hour. This role is based on-site at the Boots Regional Dispensing Hub located above the Boots Distribution centre on Rutherford Road, Basingstoke. The site is open Monday to Saturday from 06:00-22:00.
The Boots Regional Dispensing Hub (RDH) is an advanced, semi-automated pharmacy opening September 2025 in Basingstoke. The hub is a pharmacy and logistics hybrid operation, utilising technology and automation to centrally fill repeat prescription scripts and dispatch to our stores within 24 hours of receiving the prescription. The Basingstoke Dispensing Hub will support our stores across the region, helping our healthcare teams spend more time with their patients and offer a greater range of services to their local community.
About the role: This is an exciting opportunity to become part of the future of dispensing medicines. The Regional Dispensing Hub is a unique and innovative environment with a mix of pharmacy and logistics elements. You will be part of a team dispensing Boots prescriptions from across the region using some of the most advanced dispensing technology to allow the team to dispense large volumes of prescriptions with industry leading levels of safety. You will also support the Operations team with stock management where required. Full training will be provided as you work to complete your training for NVQ2 in Healthcare Services.
Working within the Regional Dispensing Hub, you will be part of a large team working closely together to ensure prescriptions are assembled accurately and with patient safety at the heart. Typical duties will be picking and sorting medication so that it can be automated into individual customer orders.
What you need to have:
- 1+ years of experience working at pace
- Excellent attention to detail
- Good communication skills
- Punctuality and timekeeping are important
- A good level of numeracy and literacy
Your safety within the workplace is paramount therefore you'll need to work in a safe manner with the safety of colleagues in mind at all times.
It would be great if you also have:
- Experience within warehousing, production or pharmacy would be advantageous but isn’t essential
