About the role
Boots Brands & Exclusives develop and source over 300 seasonal gift lines each year, annually evolving and transforming the offer and how we deliver it. In this pivotal role of Portfolio Delivery Manager, you'll use your deep expertise in programme management to lead the overall delivery of the BBE seasonal product programme. If you have a passion for programme/portfolio/project management, outstanding stakeholder management and governance skills then this is the role for you. Reporting to the Head of Quality & Technical Services, this role leads the management, governance, prioritisation & delivery of the BBE seasonal product portfolio.
Key responsibilities
- Supports the cross functional team globally to deliver the seasonal product portfolio through the application of portfolio/project management best practice including planning, governance, issue and risk management, change control, stakeholder management, escalation and portfolio reporting.
- Ensures all projects are delivered on time.
- Engages cross functional teams and supplier base to deliver all plans globally, ensures portfolio best practice covering planning, CPA management, governance, issue and risk management, stakeholder management and portfolio reporting is in place.
- Works closely with commercial, imports and business units to define and agree a business wide approach to key dates, commercials and delivery tracking.
- Develops product delivery best practice and frameworks, utilising systems and tools to support.
- Monitors performance of portfolio and investigates facts and develops solutions with project teams to issues impacting pipeline delivery.
- Champions a 'one team' mind-set driving ownership & forward progress.
- Ensures accurate provision of portfolio data and status reporting, embracing new systems & tools to support.
- Ensures effective risk management and communication to stakeholders to ensure positive resolution.
- Identifies program improvements to drive continuous improvement and increase speed, productivity and quality of delivery.
What you'll need to have
- Portfolio and project management experience; excellent knowledge and experience in product delivery and product portfolio management within a retail or FMCG environment coupled with a recognised professional qualification - PRINCE2 or APM.
- Strong brand, product development, commercial and end to end supply chain process understanding.
- Passion to lead, influence and engage cross business teams (commercial and technical) to drive business outcomes.
- Drive to influence multiple stakeholders and manage relationships both internally and externally.
- Agile, flexible, 'one team' mindset. Management of unforeseen risks and issues quickly and calmly.
- Continuous improvement mindset - able to identify, lead and champion continuous improvement opportunities cross functionally.
- Coaching skills to develop team members.
