Are you ready to play a key role in delivering large-scale business change? We are seeking a Head of Finance - Business Transformation to join our Finance team at Boots in Nottingham. This is a high-impact role at the heart of strategic transformation programmes, providing financial leadership, governance, and insight to ensure successful delivery of change initiatives across the business.
Responsibilities
- Act as the strategic finance partner to Programme Directors and transformation teams, shaping the financial direction of key initiatives.
- Design and embed proportionate financial governance frameworks that balance control with speed, ensuring investments are aligned to maximize business value.
- Lead consolidated programme financial reporting, delivering clear, forward‑looking insight to executive and board‑level stakeholders.
- Provide constructive challenge and enablement to programme teams on budgets, forecasts, risks, and benefits, encouraging informed decisions.
- Ensure disciplined investment appraisal and ongoing value tracking, with a clear focus on ROI, benefits realisation, and strategic outcomes across transformation initiatives.
- Lead and develop a high‑performing finance team that is comfortable operating in ambiguity, challenging the status quo and enabling change.
Requirements
- Qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA or equivalent).
- Significant experience in senior finance roles, ideally within transformation, change, or programme environments.
- Proven ability to partner at executive level, influencing Programme Directors and senior stakeholders.
- Strong experience in financial governance, investment control, and large‑scale programme reporting.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate financial insight into clear, commercially focused guidance for non‑finance leaders and executives.

- Experience supporting major transformation programmes (e.g., ERP, digital, operating model change).
- Familiarity with programme governance frameworks and portfolio management approaches.
