Overview
The Opticians Data Science and Analytics team has three core goals: to understand the customer through great insight, to turn insight into personalised communications, and to analyse the impact of our activity. We mix data science, data engineering and CRM skills to predict customer behaviour and build solutions to personalise and improve the customer experience.
Responsibilities
- We are looking for a numerate, logical and technical Analyst with an interest in customer data and passionate about creating applicable insights and solutions to join our Data Science and Analytics team in the Nottingham Head Office.
- You will be influencing our decisions to ensure that the right data are at the heart of everything we do.
- You will focus on supporting the development, use and maintenance of our predictive models.
- You will be a subject matter expert in the data available and understanding what data are available to lead innovation.
- You will learn how those data transforms into CRM improvement, assisting the creation and implementation of models to help the business understand their patients.
- You will utilise the Boots Opticians patient data alongside Boots Advantage Card data to develop customer insights that inform the development of hyper-personalised communications for our customers.
- You will work with partners to help them understand the reasons for decisions.
- You will also translate your findings and present them to our partners, providing insight that helps shape future strategies to improve what we do and lead commercial value.
- You will also be at the forefront of Opticians development, helping with the data requirements and testing for all new data feeds and products, being an important part of project teams across the business.
Requirements
- Analytical and Data Science experience.
- Translate business questions or challenges into analytical problems and use available data and tools to develop a calculable solution.
- Strong communication and data presentation skills. Able to present complex ideas to less analytically minded partners.
- Proficiency in using SQL and Python.
- You will record and deliver results in a dynamic, fast paced environment.
- The ability to deal well with ambiguity and an expertise in prioritisation of needs is key.
Desirable
- Understanding of the principles and application of modelling techniques in a customer personalisation environment.
- Experience implementing and integrating new data sets.
- Experience targeting, optimisation or measurement of direct or digital marketing activity through campaign automation and execution tools such as Adobe Campaign Classic or Unica.
- Experience with data visualisation tools such as PowerBI.
- Expertise in data protection and governance.
