At our Boots Opticians Wigmore Street store located in the heart of London Marylebone, we are redefining the experience of luxury eyewear by combining clinical excellence with world‑class service, offering an exceptional standard of eye care alongside bespoke eyewear consultation designed for a discerning, private clientele. Following an exciting store refit scheduled for early 2026, we are now seeking an exceptional Assistant Manager to support our team and help shape the next chapter. You can enjoy the energy of city living whilst working in the centre of the action, providing the ultimate blend of convenience and fast‑paced urban lifestyle. Working in a beautifully curated boutique environment, you will inspire and develop a team of up to 10 professionals including Optometrists, Dispensing Opticians and Retail Assistants, ensuring that every client interaction reflects the clinical precision and personal care synonymous with the Boots brand. We will support you in completing our industry‑leading ‘Step into Optics’ training programme along to help you develop your clinical knowledge. With leadership training programmes also available, we are committed to helping you develop and carve out a career at Boots Opticians. This is more than a managerial role—it’s an opportunity to enhance a luxury retail experience to the highest standard.
Key Responsibilities
- The store is open seven days a week operating clinics Monday to Sunday. Each customer will enjoy a 40–45‑minute eye examination in a private consulting room before being personally guided by a Dispensing Optician to choose their choice of frames and lenses.
- Drive sales performance and ensure operational excellence within a luxury setting.
- Lead, motivate, and develop the team to deliver first‑class customer service.
- Champion our unique‑to‑Boots approach to eye care and optical consultation.
- Maintain the impeccable presentation and atmosphere of the store.
- You will work with your team to assist customers and find the products and services that best meet their needs.
- Complete management tasks such as creating and maintaining rotas, return to work reviews and performance management.
- Complete our industry‑leading 'Step into Optics' training programme to help you develop your professional and clinical knowledge.
What You'll Need To Have
- Experience with high‑end customer service and customer relationship management.
- Experience leading or coaching a team.
- Desire to learn.
It would be great if you also have
- Experience working in a premium or luxury retail or hospitality environment.
- Experience working within an optical or clinical environment (not essential).
