The hourly rate for this role is ÂŁ13.56 and up to ÂŁ15.59 across selected locations within London.

About The Opportunity

As a Boots Relief Phlebotomist, you will be based at our Leeds Trinity store but will regularly travel to our Stockton on Tees and Manchester stores to provide support for our healthcare services, with more locations due to be added in the future. As a Boots Health Clinic Specialist – Relief Phlebotomist, you will conduct a variety of pharmacy services within your in‑store clinic, including taking venous blood samples from patients. You will manage your appointment diary, greet patients, deliver services, and use your ability to connect with patients to provide exceptional patient‑centred care. You will build great relationships with patients, listen to their concerns, and manage every consultation with compassion. Using your knowledge and training, you will confidently provide holistic care and solutions that are right for each individual. Every day you will have the opportunity to make a real difference to patients, providing a wide range of responsibilities and services – no two days will be the same.

Key Responsibilities

  • Day‑to‑day management of the appointment diary to ensure clinics are set up as required to deliver the necessary services safely and professionally.
  • Ensure every individual arriving for a pre‑booked appointment is greeted, booked into the system, and all pre‑consultation paperwork is completed.
  • Take venous blood samples from individuals according to UK guidelines, ensuring the integrity of the blood samples is maintained at all times, including appropriate storage.
  • Ensure samples are prepared for collection and that missed collections are escalated, ensuring samples reach the laboratory within the set timeframe.
  • Communicate with the store leadership team, pharmacist, and pharmacy team to ensure safe and appropriate provision of the service.
  • Order and maintain adequate stock of consumables and materials required to deliver the service.
  • Ensure the consultation space always meets the required consultation room standards.

What You’ll Need To Have

  • Healthcare Training Programme at NVQ2 or equivalent, or prepared to work through and complete within six months.
  • ECG phlebotomy training and supervision including basic life support or prepared to work through and complete within 6 months.
  • Empathetic, approachable, and able to interact sensitively with customers.

It would be great if you also have

  • Experience working within community pharmacy.
