About the role
The Layout Manager plays a crucial role in designing, planning, and optimising store layouts across our estate. This role is deeply embedded in business systems, processes, and cross-functional coordination—ensuring every layout supports commercial goals, operational efficiency, and the customer journey.
Key responsibilities
- Develop and manage store layout plans using CAD and layout planning software
- Lead a team of Layout Design Specialists, driving for continuous improvements and driving stretching KPI and development agendas
- Blend customer insight, commercial acumen and operational ease in order to deliver optimum customer journeys for our customers
- Utilise layout planning software including Blue Yonder and AutoCAD, and other internal systems
- Lead for collaboration across a wide cross-functional teams to ensure layout changes align with business processes
- Standardise layout templates and processes to ensure consistency across locations and differentiate by store Format where appropriate
- Drive process improvements in layout planning, from brief to execution
- Oversee the rollout of layout changes in conjunction with store key initiatives and seasonal planning teams
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and accessibility regulations
What you\’ll need to have
- A strong people leader, able to motivate and lead a diverse team with continuous improvement at its heart.
- Strong background in store layout planning, retail operations, or visual merchandising
- Solid understanding of retail systems and Customer behaviour
- Demonstrated ability to streamline and document layout-related processes
- Analytical and data-driven mindset with excellent attention to detail
- The ability to build and maintain meaningful relationships with a variety of different senior stakeholders cross-functionally
- Able to embrace, endorse and positively react to change; leading for resilience across the team.
- Ability to lead cross-functional layout initiatives from concept to implementation
