A permanent, full-time hybrid role with a London-based office.

This role suits someone with strong commercial and negotiation experience looking to take ownership of senior supplier relationships within the prescribed medicines category.

About The Role

Part of our Healthcare Business Unit, the Pharmacy Commercial Partnerships and Supply team are responsible for commercial and supply management of the pharmaceutical category.

Your role will include leading commercial discussions with senior representatives from pharmaceutical manufacturers.

You'll work across some of our branded suppliers, using your advanced negotiation skills and strong commercial insight to drive incremental value and support the delivery of budgeted buying profit.

You will combine supplier engagement, market knowledge and data-led analysis to identify opportunities, influence supplier behaviour and ensure Boots secures the best possible commercial position.

You'll also collaborate closely with internal teams and external wholesalers to enable informed decision-making and ensure smooth execution of commercial agreements.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead commercial negotiations with senior representatives at pharmaceutical manufacturers to secure competitive pricing and funding for brand deals.
  • Combine market analysis, industry knowledge and financial insight to identify new commercial opportunities.
  • Support development and execution of commercial strategies that deliver incremental supplier funding and improved buying profit.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external wholesaler category teams to ensure commercial agreements are operationally aligned.
  • Maintain accuracy and integrity of commercial agreement records and ensure timely updates.
  • Provide commercial expertise and support to cross-functional projects focused on margin improvement.
  • Represent the commercial agenda in internal forums and contribute to longer-term supplier strategy planning.
  • What You’ll Need To Have
  • Strong commercial experience within a buying, supplier management or pharmaceutical environment.
  • Developed negotiation skills with experience influencing senior stakeholders.
  • Ability to interpret complex data and translate insights into commercial recommendations.
  • Clear and confident communicator able to build strong relationships internally and externally.
  • Able to work independently, manage conflicting priorities and operate with sound commercial judgement.
  • Proficient in Excel and confident using core analytical and Windows applications.
  • IT WOULD BE GREAT IF YOU ALSO HAVE
  • Knowledge of pharmaceutical supply chains, pricing structures and funding flows.
  • Experience working with branded pharmaceutical manufacturers.
  • Understanding of NHS reimbursement mechanisms and commercial frameworks.
