As a Mobile Dispensing Optician, you will work across different stores within a defined geographical area to support our stores with cover when people are out of the business.

Our Mobile Dispensing Opticians play a key role in the area at providing crucial clinical support in stores for regulated dispensing. You will work very closely with a Mobile Optometrist and provide a customer experience where there is a seamless journey for the patient from chair to dispense.

You will also:

  • Role model, lead and deliver exceptional care, supporting patients and customers to make appropriate choices regarding optical and healthcare products and services.
  • Work flexibly across the opticians area according to business need, continually developing your knowledge so that you can be at your best for patients and customers.
  • Provide expert knowledge for patients with more specialist requirements.
  • Deliver complete healthcare solutions for our patients and customers and coach other opticians team members to do the same.
  • Work with the Boots Healthcare teams to give a one health solution.
  • Supervise the development, education and training of colleagues and support and mentor students (including Student Dispensing Opticians).
  • Comply with the standards of practice and the current Boots Opticians clinical policies and standard operating procedures.
  • Support the opticians team to deliver an efficient model day and other operational processes to ensure that the opticians business trades legally and safely.
  • Get involved in regular store leadership team meetings to ensure high clinical standards are maintained to support patient safety.
  • Actively embrace and advocate the digital agenda and introduce customers to these tools where appropriate through great conversations.

What You'll Need To Have:

  • Registered with the General Optical Council (GOC).
  • Optical experience and expertise.
  • Great at building relationships. You will be working very closely with a range of stakeholders including store and area leaders, peers, customers and external local professionals.
  • High clinical standards.
  • A role model working to lead and deliver our Healthcare Ambition, to be the first choice for patients for their dispensing needs.
  • Motivated to own your learning and development, completing all educational training CET as part of the GOC requirement.
  • Willing and able to travel to different stores in the region.
