About the Role

You’ll lead the technical development and delivery of innovative new products that make a real difference to our customers’ lives. You’ll collaborate with passionate experts across the business and trusted external partners to bring ideas to life, overseeing everything from product concept and technical specifications to product verification, compliance, and launch readiness. With the customer at the heart of every decision, you’ll help define what great is in Boots Own Brand Health & Wellness, ensuring each new product is safe, effective and delights our customers. You will work within the Boots Technical Service Team as the technical lead on new and existing product development projects, driving the timely resolution of technical challenges and ultimately ensuring the products are safe, legal and meet or exceed the expectations of our customers and patients.

Responsibilities

  • Accountable for the technical product development activities including ensuring our products are safe, legally compliant and meet our quality, sustainability and ethical standards.
  • Technically critiquing potential product offerings to help build and meet our 3‑year NPD plans.
  • Managing the planning and delivery of projects within the portfolio to meet business KPIs (time, cost, quality) through the application of project‑management best practice, including planning, governance, issue and risk management, change control, stakeholder management, utilization of systems, escalation and accurate up‑to‑date provision of project data and reporting.
  • Responsible for engaging all appropriate internal teams (e.g. technical, commercial, product, supply) and experts (e.g. regulatory for product registration) to ensure successful product delivery and market launch.
  • Coordinating and compiling the technical product data required for technical product approval and release, with interest in product development or experience in developing products from brief to market, ideally within an FMCG environment.

Qualifications

  • Excellent skills in relationship development & management both internally and externally with a focus on delivery.
  • Previous experience in project management.
  • Good technical understanding of consumer health & wellness categories.
  • Commercial mindset and proven track record of identifying the right opportunity, gaining business buy‑in and converting this into commercial success.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Science degree.
  • Project management qualification e.g., APM or Prince2.
