Overview
The salary for this role is £12.40 per hour. The festive season at Boots is one of our most exciting and important times of the year, and it simply couldn\’t happen without the energy, warmth and dedication of our store teams. As a Christmas Customer Assistant, you\’ll be at the heart of the action, greeting customers with a smile, offering product and gift advice, and creating a memorable experience that leads to lasting loyalty.
This role is a great opportunity whether you\’re just starting your career or have retail or customer service experience and want a fresh challenge. If you love helping people and making their day, this is the job for you. While this is a temporary contract, there may be potential for a permanent role later depending on opportunities in your local area.
Responsibilities
- Customer Interaction: You\’ll offer thoughtful advice, recommend products and highlight offers to ensure everyone has an enjoyable shopping experience.
- Till Operation: You\’ll assist with purchases at the counter or support self-checkout systems, bringing energy and efficiency to every transaction.
- Stock Management: You will help keep shelves full so customers can find what they need during the busiest shopping season.
- Store Presentation: Ensure every area looks its best and reflects the store standards.
- Online Order Support: While this is a customer-facing role, you may assist with deliveries, picking and packing for online orders as needed.
What you’ll need to have
- Available to work Bank Holidays including Black Friday week and weekend, Cyber Monday, Christmas Eve, Boxing Day, New Year’s Day.
- Customer Service Skills: Comfortable approaching customers and providing a personalised experience.
- Operations Ready: Able to balance customer care with daily shopfloor and operational tasks.
- Tech-Savvy: Ability to learn and use new technology, including handheld devices, tills and self-checkouts.
- Team Player: Collaborative mindset to help the team meet store goals.
- Physical Stamina: On your feet, standing, walking and lifting as needed.
- Brand Ambassador: Passion for Boots ethos, products and services.
