Overview
The salary for this role is £12.40 per hour. The festive season at Boots is one of our most exciting and important times of the year, and it simply couldn\’t happen without the energy, warmth and dedication of our store teams. As a Christmas Customer Assistant, you\’ll be at the heart of the action, greeting customers with a smile, offering product and gift advice, and creating a memorable experience that leads to a happily ever after and keeps them coming back all year round. This role is a great opportunity whether you\’re just starting your career or have retail or customer service experience and want a fresh challenge. If you love helping people and making their day, this is the job for you. While this is a temporary contract, there may be the potential for a permanent role later depending on opportunities in your local area.
About the role: You will work in a Boots store and report to the Assistant or Store Manager.
Responsibilities
- Customer Interaction: Offer thoughtful advice, recommend products and highlight offers to ensure customers have an enjoyable shopping experience.
- Till Operation: Support transactions at the counter and with self-checkout systems, bringing energy and efficiency to every sale.
- Stock Management: Keep shelves full so customers can find what they need during the holiday season.
- Store Presentation: Ensure every area of the store looks its best.
- Online order support: Assist with deliveries, picking, and packing for online orders as needed.
What you’ll need to have
- Available to work Bank Holidays including Black Friday week and weekend, Cyber Monday, Christmas Eve, Boxing Day, New Year\\\’s Day.
- Customer Service Skills: Comfortable approaching customers and providing a personalised experience.
- Operations Ready: Able to balance customer care with daily shop floor and operational tasks.
- Tech-Savvy: Ability to learn and use new technology, including handheld devices, tills and self-checkouts.
- Team Player: Collaborative mindset to help the team meet store goals.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to be on your feet, standing, walking and lifting.
- Brand Ambassador: Align with Boots ethos, products and services and share them with customers.
Desirable experience
- Experience in a retail or customer-facing environment (desirable, not essential).
