Job Description

The hourly rate for this role is £12.60 and up to £14.13 across selected locations within London. The hourly rate will increase after 6 months in role. No previous experience is required, and full training will be provided.

About the opportunity

As a Trainee Dispenser working within one of our stores, you will be a key member of our pharmacy team supporting the pharmacist and other healthcare professionals to ensure the safe and efficient delivery of pharmacy and healthcare services.

During your Dispenser training (NVQ2) you will build relationships with patients, greet customers, dispense prescriptions, ensure safe sale of medicines, and provide advice to support informed decisions about health and wellness.

This is a role based in store within the UK. Remote applicants will not be considered and only those with relevant UK qualifications and right to work will be considered.

Key responsibilities

  • Complete your training for the Pharmacy Advisor NVQ2 programme.
  • Prescription dispensing while ensuring safe supply of medicines (ordering, labelling, dispensing, endorsing, collection).
  • Assist healthcare professionals in management and delivery of pharmacy services.
  • Provide care and advice about medicines, and refer queries to the Pharmacist as appropriate.
  • Follow Standard Operating Procedures to support safe and legal dispensing.
  • Keep up to date with new innovations and comply with operational processes.
  • Support patients to manage prescriptions and medicines effectively to promote adherence and reduce waste.

Working with evolving technologies within store you will learn new systems that improve patient safety and free up time with patients.

You will receive regular updates and training to develop your healthcare knowledge and career options, including training as a Pharmacy Technician or part of the store leadership team.

What you’ll need to have

  • Desire to learn and complete the Dispenser training programme (NVQ2).
  • Current and valid UK right to work. This role is not eligible for sponsorship for a Skilled Worker Visa.

It would be great if you also have

  • Experience working in community pharmacy.
