The Communications Assistant provides essential support to the Boots External Communications team. This role helps to share Boots news and stories with media and influencers, and supports with the coordination of campaigns, event organisation, engagement with media and the creation of compelling content.
As part of a busy press office, the role will oversee media mail outs and sampling, support with coverage tracking and reporting and be responsible for the development of newsworthy media alerts, contributing to positive coverage for Boots and our brands.
Key responsibilities:- Support with the creation, drafting and sell in of news stories to media and influencers that result in positive editorial and social coverage for Boots.
- Manage product sampling ensuring mail outs are shared with relevant media and influencers in a timely and appropriate manner.
- Assist in the planning, execution and evaluation of communications campaigns and events.
- Collate regular media coverage reports and ensure these are consistently shared internally with key stakeholders.
- Manage the Boots' media contacts database, maintaining up-to-date records.
- Carry out administrative tasks to ensure the smooth running of the PR office.
- Some experience of PR, communications, or media, ideally within retail, health or beauty sectors.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, attention to detail and strong organisational abilities, and confident in meeting new people and building relationships.
- Proactive, enthusiastic, flexible and able to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Competent in Microsoft Office Suite and social media platforms.
- Degree in Public Relations, Communications, Media, or a related field is preferred.
