As a Mobile Contact Lens Optician, you will work across different stores within a defined geographical area to support our stores with cover when people are out of the business.
About the role
As a Contact Lens Optician you will lead and inspire the opticians team to deliver excellent patient‑centred care and ensure our customers and patients are supported to feel good in their contact lenses. Reporting to a Store Manager / Hub Manager, you will support the safe running of the opticians business, being an expert in the technical aspects of the products you recommend, as well as in the sale and supply of contact lenses and optical appliances around the area.
You will also:
- Be an expert in the Boots Opticians contact lens product portfolio
- Be the go‑to person for knowledge about complete care solutions, services and offers and you will use this information to create life‑long patients and customers through appropriate recommendation
- Supervise the development, education and training of colleagues and supports and mentors students
- Seek opportunities to engage with local commissioners and external healthcare professionals.
- Support the Divisional Contact Lens Lead in growing the business, helping stores identify new opportunities for customers to wear contact lenses, and support confidence with store teams and clinicians in driving contact lens trials.
- Work in partnership with the local management team to deliver both contact lens and ophthalmology led services
- Be proud ambassador, with a desire for Boots to be the first choice for patients for their contact lens needs
- Travel to different stores within the area

- Registered with the General Optical Council (GOC)
- Optical Expertise
- Passion to improve customer care and ensure high clinical standards
- Motivated to own your learning and development, completing all educational training CET as part of the GOC requirement
- Strong relationships within the opticians world and respected by peers, customers and external local professionals
- Digitally savvy and comfortable with navigating and embracing new technology
- Willingness and ability to travel
