Joining Boots Healthcare Logistics as a Driver (HLD) is a great opportunity to deliver first class care to people in the community who might not otherwise visit a Boots store. This role focuses on patient care behind the parcel and offers more than typical delivery roles.
About the role
You will report to the Healthcare Logistics Manager. Your role is to provide outstanding customer care by delivering and collecting medicines from care homes, patients at home, GP surgeries and Boots stores within an allocated route time. You will help ensure timely and accurate deliveries while following safety protocols. A Boots-maintained vehicle will be provided, along with training and equipment for safe operation, including a handheld device with pre-planned routing and satellite navigation.
You will also:
- Build relationships with store teams, care homes and GP surgeries.
- Follow standards, operating policies and health and safety procedures.
- Drive safely and legally.
- Keep the vehicle maintained and clean, reporting any damage or issues.
- Provide feedback on customer comments and concerns and suggest improvements for the operation.
- Be a proud ambassador for Boots Healthcare Logistics.
What you’ll need to have
Essential skills or experience (full training provided):
- A minimum of 1 year’s driving experience.
- Ability to read and interpret delivery routes and instructions.
- Ability to follow processes and work at pace to achieve service levels and targets.
- Physical stamina and capability for a manually demanding role with heavy lifting.
- Comfortable using new technology.
- Calm under unexpected changes or challenges.
- Comfortable in new situations and meeting new people.
- A genuine desire to help people and provide excellent care.
Desirable (not essential)

Information about the role
We are looking for drivers who can be flexible to meet customers’ needs. Your basic hours will be 17.5 per week, with a schedule that may include Monday to Friday evenings and occasional Saturdays. Typical hours: 17:30–21:00 on weekdays, and Saturday shifts at 08:45–13:00 and 13:45–17:00. You may be on-call for additional shifts as needed.
