Overview
The salary for this role is £12.40 per hour. The festive season at Boots is a busy time for our store teams. As a Christmas Customer Assistant, you will greet customers, offer product and gift advice, and help create a memorable shopping experience.
This is a temporary contract with potential for a permanent role later depending on local opportunities. This could be the start of a new career with Boots.
About the role
You will work in a Boots store and report to the Assistant or Store Manager. Your responsibilities include:
- Customer Interaction: Offer thoughtful advice, recommend products, and highlight offers to ensure a positive shopping experience.
- Till Operation: Handle transactions, wrap up purchases at the counter, and support self-checkout systems with energy and efficiency.
- Stock Management: Keep shelves full so customers can find what they need during the busy season.
- Store Presentation: Ensure the store area looks its best at all times.
- Online order support: You may assist with deliveries, picking, and packing for online orders as needed.
What you’ll need to have
Full training is provided. Essential skills/experience include:
- Availability to work Bank Holidays including Black Friday week, Cyber Monday, Christmas Eve, Boxing Day, New Year’s Day.
- Customer Service Skills: Comfortable approaching customers and providing a personalised experience.
- Operations Ready: Ability to balance customer care with daily shopfloor and operational tasks.
- Tech-Savvy: Ability to learn and use technology, including handheld devices, tills, and self-checkouts.
- Team Player: Collaborative, one-team mindset.
- Physical Stamina: On your feet, standing, walking, and lifting.
- Brand Ambassador: Interest in Boots ethos, products and services.
Desirable experience

- Experience in a retail or customer-facing environment.
- Familiar with Boots products and services to help customers.
