We are working with an advanced materials manufacturer in Ayrshire that is quietly powering some of the most demanding sectors on the planet - from aerospace to oil & gas. Their machines don't mess about, and neither do their people.
They've got everything from 2-axis lathes to multi-axis beasts, and a mix of control systems (Fanuc, Siemens, Mazak, Heidenhain - if you can program it, you'll probably find it here). Every day is different: one-off precision components, small batch runs, R&D parts, you name it.
This isn't the kind of place where you're a button-pusher. It's the kind of place where you're trusted to run the job - from setup to inspection - with the freedom to make things right. The standard is high, but so's the satisfaction when you hit that perfect tolerance.
The job will involve:
- Programming, setting and operating CNC machines (turning, milling, multi-axis work)
- Working from complex technical drawings and tight tolerances
- Producing components for aerospace, oil & gas and other high-spec industries
- Collaborating with engineers and designers to fine-tune processes
- Constantly learning - there's a real mix of legacy kit and cutting-edge tech here
You'll need:
- Experience in CNC machining (turning, milling or both)
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
- Comfortable across a variety of controls (Fanuc, Siemens, Mazak, Heidenhain)
- Pride in your work - this is precision engineering, not mass production
- Someone who genuinely enjoys figuring things out and doing them properly
What's in it for you?
- Competitive rates (negotiable depending on experience)
- 4.5 day week
- Solid benefits and overtime opportunities
- Long-term stability in a growing, innovative sector
- Real investment in your training and development
If you're a machinist who loves complex work, modern kit, and zero nonsense, hit apply or send us a message, even if you're just curious.
