About the Role

As a Quantity Surveyor at Booth Welsh, you\’ll play a pivotal role in our dynamic engineering and project delivery environment. Operating across multiple sectors-including energy, life sciences, defence, and manufacturing, you\’ll manage commercial and contractual responsibilities that are critical to the successful execution of our projects.

From day one, you\’ll be empowered to make a measurable impact. Whether conducting precontract project reviews, supporting early-stage project costing, engaging in contract negotiations, or managing financial reporting throughout the project lifecycle, your contribution will directly influence project outcomes and client satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Contract administration and commercial management of diverse projects
  • Deliver accurate cost and value reporting to meet client and business requirements.
  • Preparation and submission of payment applications, ensuring timely cash receipts.
  • Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies to minimise financial & commercial risks
  • Prepare & estimate contract changes, variations & claims in compliance with contractual frameworks
  • Provide commercial support to project teams, including contract compliance and change management advice.
  • Establish and maintain interfaces with internal and client project teams.
  • Ensure adherence to company standards, governance, and contractual obligations.
  • Maintain auditable records in accordance with contract requirements.
  • Provide training and mentorship to graduate team members.

Your Experience:

  • Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or related field
  • Minimum 5 years\’ experience in commercial management
  • Familiarity with NEC contracts essential
  • RICS or equivalent professional certification (desirable)
  • Strong negotiation, communication, and analytical skills
  • Proven ability in managing complex, medium-value projects
  • Proficiency with MS Excel, Project, and Outlook
