Booth Welsh have partnered with a client in Glasgow to help them resource a Control Systems Engineer to work across their project Department within a large production/manufacturing plant near Glasgow. This will be a contract role with a good hourly rate for 6 months at least and will probably go a lot longer than this.

Knowledge and experience required:

  • Working in a process environment
  • Experience within design as well as implementation/commissioning
  • Full working knowledge of Rockwell packages: Studio 5000, FT View SE, RS Linx / FT Linx
  • Capability to design control systems 'from the ground up'
  • PLC programming
  • HMI programming
  • Network design
  • Instrumentation setup and configuration
  • Documentation - loop sheets, functional specifications etc.
  • High level of safety knowledge in process area
  • Working knowledge of IEC 61511
  • Capability to complete design (SIS/SIF)
  • Knowledge and experience on industrial networks (ethernet, Profibus would be beneficial)
  • Wider knowledge of 3rd party systems (e.g. Turck)
