Booth Welsh have an exciting opportunity for a Functional Safety Engineer to join our Engineering team! The successful candidate will assist in projects in the following industries. Petrochemical, Oil and Gas, Medical Device, Pharmaceuticals, Chemical and Nuclear. As part of our engineering team, we are looking for a talented individual with a wide range of professional skills. The role requires the individual to be working on and controlling multiple concurrent projects with a keen eye to ensuring deadlines are achieved. There will be a strong client interface and ideally, a wide degree of instrumentation technical knowledge as well as considerable experience in an industrial environment. Candidates preferred will have pharmaceutical / fine chemical experience and will possess the necessary competencies and behaviours to be able to work with minimum supervision. Responsibilities / Duties: * Lead the Functional Safety Aspects of assigned projects * Prepare Functional Safety Management Plans * Participate in LOPA studies as required * Prepare and review Safety Requirements Specifications * Lead the creation of Functional Safety Design Documentation * Lead Functional Safety Assessments * Assist with Instrument Engineering activities as required on projects. Requirements: * Chartered or working toward Chartered status * Degree qualified in a relevant engineering discipline * Relevant Engineering experience and high technical capability for core Instrument Engineering discipline. * At least 5 years\’ experience in Functional Safety activities * TUV FS Engineer certificate (or equivalent preferred)
