We have an excellent opportunity for an Instrument Designer to join our design team with one of our long term clients, based in North Ayrshire. Contract or Permanent staff positions on offer! 2-3 days site and the rest home working.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Follow Engineer(s) guidance for implementation of client standards on projects
  • Implement best practices from previous client projects
  • Ensure all duties are carried out in line with all company policies and procedures
  • Follow Engineer(s) guidance for project timelines & priority of tasks
  • Identify to Engineers(s) any areas of technical expertise where support is required
  • Assist Instrument Engineers (and/or Electrical) to generate design calculations, schedules, documents & drawing sets
  • Consult with Engineer(s) for checks and approval of all designs
  • Signature Authority – limited to checking or generation of design drawings & documents
  • Supervision of support team, e.g. other Designers or CAD Operators
  • Project Interaction with Doc Control – for external & internal project document transmittals
  • Provide Support for project designs (relevant to experience) in following:
    • Generation of Instrument Installation Design Drawing & Document sets
    • Generation of Electrical Installation Design Drawing & Document sets
    • Generation of Panel Design Drawing & Document sets
    • Assist with design calculations, schedules, documents & other drawing sets
    • Drawing Package expertise: AutoCAD and/or MicroStation
