We're looking for an AI Solutions Director to join a growing technology consultancy delivering complex digital and AI-enabled transformation programmes across public sector and regulated environments.

This is a senior, highly influential role for someone who can bridge technical solution architecture with the practical realities of deploying AI in organisations where governance, policy and stakeholder confidence matter as much as technology choices.

This isn't a pure research, data science or machine learning engineering position. Instead, we're seeking someone who can design robust AI-enabled solutions, guide delivery teams through implementation decisions, navigate governance requirements and act as a trusted advisor to senior client stakeholders.

You’ll work closely with architects, delivery teams, product leaders and client organisations to ensure AI solutions are practical, responsible and capable of delivering measurable outcomes.

The Role

You’ll own and shape the AI-in-the-solution workstream across multiple client engagements, helping organisations adopt AI technologies safely and effectively while balancing innovation with governance, assurance and operational realities. This is a highly collaborative and client-facing role, requiring regular travel to support workshops, stakeholder meetings and programme delivery activities across the UK.

What You’ll Do

  • Guide teams on agent frameworks, tooling selection and integration patterns
  • Define approaches for AI evaluation, including quality, safety and performance assessment
  • Translate AI policy, governance and risk requirements into practical delivery decisions
  • Provide leadership on responsible AI adoption within regulated environments
  • Represent AI capability in client workshops, technical deep-dives and executive steering groups
  • Build trusted relationships across client organisations and delivery teams
  • Support organisations navigating AI-enabled change and transformation
  • Help teams design scalable, secure and maintainable AI solutions
  • Influence technical and business stakeholders to achieve successful outcomes

What We're Looking For

  • Proven background in Solution Architecture, Enterprise Architecture or Technical Leadership
  • Demonstrable experience designing and delivering AI-enabled solutions in production environments
  • Experience working within government, public sector or highly regulated environments
  • Strong understanding of governance, assurance, policy and risk management considerations
  • Hands-on experience with AI tooling and agent ecosystems such as Claude, Microsoft Copilot, LangChain or equivalent
  • Strong understanding of agent-based architectures and AI integration patterns
  • Experience evaluating AI system quality, safety and performance
  • Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Excellent stakeholder management and relationship-building skills
  • Strong product mindset with a focus on user, operational and business outcomes
  • Experience influencing teams and senior stakeholders without direct authority
  • Comfortable operating in fast-moving and evolving technology environments

Ideal Background

  • A Solution Architect, Enterprise Architect or Technical Lead with hands on AI Delivery experience
  • Experience delivering at least one significant government or public sector engagement
  • Able to speak confidently about multiple AI agent frameworks and real-world implementation challenges
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build trust and credibility quickly
  • A collaborative leader who brings stakeholders along on the journey rather than relying solely on technical authority
  • Equally comfortable discussing architecture, governance, risk and business outcomes
  • Well-connected within government, digital transformation or public sector communities would be advantageous
