We’re looking for a QA Tech Lead to take ownership of quality engineering across a portfolio of digital and enterprise SaaS products. This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who can set direction, elevate automation capability and embed a modern, risk-based approach to quality across delivery teams.

You’ll lead a small but high-performing team, working closely with engineering, product and design to drive quality outcomes, improve release confidence and build scalable, automation-first testing practices.

The Role

You’ll define and evolve the overall test strategy, ensuring the right balance of automation, exploratory testing and quality governance. You’ll act as the technical authority for testing, guiding tooling choices, frameworks and standards while mentoring engineers and testers.

  • Lead automation strategy across UI, API and integration layers
  • Set direction for frameworks, tooling and best practice
  • Mentor engineers and raise quality capability across teams
  • Improve testability and shift quality earlier in the lifecycle
  • Drive reliable, risk-based release decisions
  • Embed security, accessibility and continuous improvement

Skills & Toolkit

  • Proven QA leadership or tech lead experience
  • Strong automation across UI, API and integration testing
  • Playwright, Cypress or Selenium experience
  • JavaScript/TypeScript, with exposure to Java or Python
  • API testing (Postman or REST Assured)
  • CI/CD experience (GitLab CI preferred)
  • Risk-based quality engineering and agile delivery

Working Model

Hybrid role – 2 days per week onsite. Locations: Manchester, Midlands (Hartlebury) or London. Occasional travel to other UK or overseas offices may be required.
