We are looking for an experienced and operationally-minded leader to take ownership of Software Operations and Product Implementation at Boost inc. As our products scale globally, this role will be critical in ensuring that software systems are reliably configured and deployed across our growing device estate. Based in our London hub, you will act as the bridge between Engineering, Product, and Operations – ensuring that every product launch and every device in the field is backed by robust, well-documented, and increasingly automated software processes. This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who thrives at the intersection of software engineering and operational excellence.
What You’ll Do
- Team Leadership: Lead and develop the Software Ops / Product Implementation team, currently comprising one Implementation Engineer. Set a clear direction for the team, foster a culture of process excellence, and act as a senior point of contact for cross-functional stakeholders.
- Software Operations: Lead the Software Ops team in owning the full software operations lifecycle – from assembly-time setup (device provisioning, software configuration, setup of peripherals, etc.) through to ongoing field operations, including software deployments/rollouts and version management. Scale our operational capabilities – building tools, surfacing configuration in the frontend, automating manual processes, and ensuring everything is well-documented and teams are trained so that operations can work independently and efficiently. Continuously identify and drive process improvement initiatives at the intersection of software engineering and operations, championing operational excellence across the business.
- Implementation: Lead the handover from Product and Engineering to Operations for all new product launches – engaging proactively with both sides to ensure set-up processes are fully established and teams are trained ahead of go-live. Drive issue resolution during end-of-assembly Quality Control, acting as the single point of contact between Engineering and Operations to ensure swift diagnosis and resolution of QC failures. Act as Project Manager for selective larger, cross-functional implementation projects – coordinating across Software Ops, Engineering, Product, Quality Assurance, and Commercial teams to drive successful delivery.
What You’ll Bring
- 5+ years of experience in software operations (or similar), implementation engineering, technical programme management, or a closely related discipline.
- Proven track record of leading operational or implementation processes in a scaling technology business, ideally in hardware-software or IoT environments.
- Strong technical foundation (comfortable with software configuration, deployments, and device management) with the ability to engage credibly with engineering teams.
- Strong project management skills, with experience running cross-functional initiatives and managing competing priorities.
- Excellent communicator and collaborator, able to translate between technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- A proactive, ownership-oriented mindset – you see gaps and close them, without waiting to be asked.
- Comfortable being hands-on: this is a role where you’ll be in the weeds as much as you’ll be leading – configuring systems, troubleshooting issues, and building processes from the ground up.
