About BOOST

BOOST is a boutique agency specialising in video game brand, comms and PR. We work across brand strategy, comms planning, PR, corporate communications, social strategy and go-to-market campaigns, supporting projects of all shapes and sizes, from ambitious indie launches to major studio milestones. Our current and recent work includes partnering with MINICLIP and Playsport on the next chapter of Motorsport Manager, supporting Ironhide Studios on Kingdom Rush 6: Genesis, and working with Twisted Works on the brand, naming and launch strategy for Cast Outs. We also support BULKHEAD across strategic communications and corporate PR, including work around WARDOGS. Across every client, BOOST brings strategic thinking, creative energy and hands-on senior support to help studios define their story, reach the right audiences and build campaigns that connect.

What we’re looking for

We’re looking for a proactive, organised and genuinely games-obsessed PR Executive to join the BOOST team on a full time contract basis. You’ll be someone who understands games culture, follows the media and creator landscape closely, and enjoys spotting the stories that will make journalists, influencers and players take notice. You should be confident writing, pitching, researching, tracking coverage and supporting busy campaigns across a mix of games, studios and industry moments. This is a great role for someone with early PR or comms experience who wants to build their career in video games PR, work closely with senior industry specialists, and get hands-on experience across creative campaign delivery, press office, client support and launch planning.

Experience required

  • 1-2 years’ experience in PR, communications, marketing or a similar role, ideally within video games, entertainment, tech or consumer media
  • A strong interest in video games, games media, creators, online communities and wider pop culture
  • A good understanding of the UK and international games press landscape
  • Experience supporting media sell-ins, press releases, coverage tracking and reporting
  • Strong writing skills, with the ability to adapt tone for press materials, client updates, pitches and social copy
  • Excellent organisation and attention to detail
  • Confidence communicating with journalists, clients, partners and internal teams
  • A proactive attitude and willingness to get stuck into multiple projects at once
  • An interest in how games are positioned, announced and brought to market
  • Existing games media or creator contacts would be a bonus, but are not essential

The role

As PR Executive, you’ll support the day-to-day delivery of client campaigns across BOOST’s growing roster of video games clients. You’ll work closely with account leads to help deliver smart, creative and effective comms activity, from media research and press materials through to sell-ins, coverage reporting, launch support and campaign planning.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Supporting the team across day-to-day client activity and campaign delivery
  • Researching relevant journalists, creators, outlets and feature opportunities
  • Drafting media pitches, press releases, media alerts, client updates and briefing documents
  • Pitching news, previews, interviews and features to games, entertainment, tech and specialist media
  • Tracking, collating and reporting coverage in a clear and client-friendly way
  • Helping maintain media lists and contact databases
  • Supporting launch plans, announcement campaigns, previews, demos and showcase opportunities
  • Monitoring industry news, media trends, competitor activity and relevant editorial calendars
  • Helping prepare press kits, assets, briefing notes and campaign documents
  • Contributing ideas in brainstorms and campaign planning sessions
  • Building positive relationships with journalists, creators, clients and partners
  • Supporting BOOST’s own marketing, social updates and agency profile where needed

About you

  • Passionate about games and curious about the business behind them
  • A strong communicator who enjoys writing and storytelling
  • Organised, reliable and comfortable managing multiple deadlines
  • Confident enough to share ideas and ask questions
  • Detail-focused, especially when it comes to client work, press lists and reporting
  • Comfortable working in a small, fast-moving team where everyone contributes
  • Keen to learn from senior people with deep experience across studios, publishing, streaming, content and communications

The package

We offer a fully remote working environment, hands-on training and the opportunity to work closely with experienced games industry specialists on a varied mix of client projects. Benefits include:

  • Fully remote
  • 25 days’ holiday, plus bank holidays
  • Regular training and development opportunities
  • The chance to work directly across exciting video games clients, studios and campaigns
  • A supportive boutique agency environment with real opportunity to grow
