BOORTMALT is a global malting company with a 3 million tonnes production capacity. The group is present on 5 continents with 27 malting plants. Boortmalt's expertise is widely acknowledged by brewers, distillers, and food industries, who rely on the supply of top-quality barley malts. The Boortmalt Group is a fully owned subsidiary of the agricultural and agribusiness cooperative Axereal. Our relationship with Axereal, Europe's largest grain cooperative, ensures us access to high-quality barley year-round.

We are seeking an ambitious and commercially driven UK Craft Sales Manager to lead the development and execution of our Craft business across the United Kingdom. This is a pivotal role within a vibrant and fast-evolving market, where you will be responsible for expanding our customer base, strengthening long-term partnerships, and driving sustainable growth in volume, margin, and market presence.

As the local Sales Manager, you will take full ownership of negotiating new business, renewing existing contracts, and ensuring the seamless execution of agreements by working closely with our plants and internal support teams. Your success will be measured by the number of customers serviced, repeat business secured, and the commercial performance of the UK Craft portfolio.

Tasks and responsibilities include:

  • Work with the UK Brewing Key Account Manager and Group Craft Manager to develop and implement the UK Craft Strategy.
  • Contribute to the branding building for the UK Craft Sector and ensure we are well represented in appropriate social media channels with a structured and dynamic annual communication plan.
  • Develop, set up and lead appropriate actions to develop the business and customer relationships.
  • Agree annual operating budgets and monitor ongoing performance.
  • Take responsibility for and lead Craft services to include CRM, technical services, assistance and troubleshooting.
  • Work in synergy with Group functions.
  • Use the Craft business to act as ambassadors for innovation and to enable our business to develop new products and solutions for this dynamic sector.
  • Assist as necessary the roll-out of a Craft business initiative across other geographies and in particular exports from the UK.
  • Assist the Operations team to maximise malt quality in line with the potential of the malting barley crop, as measured by micro malting analysis.
  • Work with the local supply chain and operations teams to ensure effective packaging, stock management and quality control of deliveries.
  • Look to implement and oversee effective logistics/transport contractual arrangements as required for the Craft Business.
  • Define, set up, track and optimise our KPI drivers to always satisfy the KPI needs of each brewery.
  • Review and report against KPI variances.

Qualifications:

  • Degree educated and ideally with a brewing background or qualification.
  • More than 3 years of experience in brewing or business to business ingredients sales.
  • English essential with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Good analytical and IT skills, highly numerate and literate.
  • Strong negotiation skills and the ability to build trusted, long-term customer relationships.
  • A proactive, entrepreneurial mindset with a passion for the craft brewing community.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively across teams.
  • Commercial acumen and a results-oriented approach.
