What Do We Expect From You?
At Boon Edam Limited, we are committed to delivering high quality entrance solutions and outstanding service to our customers. As a CAD Technician, you will play a key role in producing accurate, high-quality technical drawings and supporting the development of BIM deliverables to ensure projects are delivered efficiently and right first time.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Produce, amend, and maintain 2D CAD drawings in line with company standards and project requirements
- Support the development and coordination of BIM models and associated data
- Ensure all drawings accurately reflect customer specifications and site requirements
- Review and cross-check factory production drawings to ensure accuracy and completeness
- Work closely with Project Managers, Sales, and Installation teams to resolve technical drawing queries
- Identify potential design or installation issues early to support efficient and cost-effective delivery
- Maintain drawing registers and ensure all documentation is version controlled and traceable
- Upload and manage drawings within customer document control portals
- Ensure compliance with Building Safety Act requirements and Golden Thread principles
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of drawing standards, templates, and processes

What skills and experience are required to perform this role?
- Proven experience producing accurate, high-quality CAD drawings within a construction or engineering environment
- Proven ability to interpret technical specifications and translate them into detailed, compliant drawings
- Experience working with or supporting BIM models, with a willingness to develop capability further
- Proven experience managing drawings and documentation within structured document control systems
- Demonstrable ability to identify and resolve design issues through a methodical approach
