Location: Boomtown HQ, Bristol (3‑week onsite residency in Winchester during festival, supported with reasonable adjustments)

Remuneration: Up to £35,000 per year pro rata, depending on experience

Role Summary: This full‑time, on‑site Freelance Social Media and Content Manager will plan and execute campaigns across social platforms to promote Boomtown Festival before, during, and after the event. Responsibilities include creating and scheduling engaging content, writing copy, optimizing posts, responding to community interactions, collaborating with marketing, creative, and production teams, tracking performance, producing basic reports, and suggested data‑informed improvements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage full scope of digital communications – social media output, paid campaigns, community management, performance reporting – from now through to post‑event wrap.
  • Create and edit original content (image and video) to high standard; schedule and copywrite posts; manage reactive messaging.
  • Lead paid digital advertising across Meta, TikTok and Google, including budget management and ticket‑sale focused campaigns.
  • Provide real‑time social media coverage and reactive communications during the live festival (12‑16 Aug), including app push notifications.
  • Coordinate with designers, videographers, photographers and external media teams to maintain brand consistency.
  • Report performance analytics to the Director of Brand and suggest improvements.
  • Work flexible schedules, including 20‑day onsite residency during late July and August.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Solid social media marketing and SMO skills; experience managing brand channels and campaigns.
  • Strong communication and writing abilities for clear, engaging copy across platforms.
  • Experience in content strategy and calendar planning, aligning content with brand goals.
  • Familiarity with analytics tools and ability to interpret data to improve performance.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast‑paced, live‑event environment.
  • Knowledge of festival culture, underground music or live‑event marketing is highly beneficial.
  • Comfort working on‑site in Bristol and collaborating in person with diverse teams.
  • Previous experience in digital marketing, community management or content production preferred.
  • Driving licence required.
