Location: Bristol HQ + onsite residency during the festival period

Advance Days: 16 days - 12 days to be completed pre event and 4 to be completed post event. Days can be relatively flexible as long as deadlines are met. Advance End date: Friday 11th September

On Site Days: 15 days 05/08/2026 - 19/08/2026

Advance Rate: £160

On Site: Three meals will be provided per shift on your wristband (Boomtown is a fully cashless festival). Caravan provided in crew campsite, this may be shared.

About Boomtown: We are a creative organisation producing one of the UK’s most ambitious festivals. Each year, we build a temporary city packed with music, theatre, art, sustainability initiatives and immersive storytelling. About the Role: The Changemaker Manager will be responsible for the briefing, welfare and management of our Changemaker volunteers and coordinators. These teams will be based across 5 different campsites and will be responsible for educating and surveying our audience on Boomtown's sustainable initiatives. This will be done through a combination of surveys, quizzes, games and facts done through our Changemaker Volunteers. You will be based within the Operations cabin in Production but during live days will be expected to be actively visiting all campsites and liaising with coordinators making sure they are fully supported and information is fluid and easily accessible to them. You will also help manage the Agents of Change Coordinator and volunteers making sure all their logistical and welfare needs are met. You will be the escalation pathway for any incidents these groups come across whilst out on site. You will be the main on the ground contact for the Changemaker Coordinators - 1 per Help Point. A thorough and invested knowledge of our green policies and expectations is key - details will be given in advance of the advancing day to allow for a full understanding of Boomtown's Sustainability aims and the data that supports it. As part of your role you will also need to have a basic knowledge of the campsite areas and the resources at your disposal.

Structure: Reports to | Event Operations Manager (Mazie Reece) and Tess Wilson (Live Event Director). Line Manager(s) | Event Operations Manager (Mazie Reece). Work alongside Changemaker Volunteers, Changemaker Coordinators, Contracted Waste Team (Ryans), Campsite Managers, Campsite Help Point Info team, stewards and security.

What You’ll Do:

  • Understand Boomtown’s sustainability aims
  • Manage the Changemaker Coordinators and Volunteers
  • Point of contact for the coordinators
  • Ensure teams have everything they need to do their job
  • Make sure volunteers and coordinators welfare and workload is managed
  • Ensure all the sustainability functions of the campsites are running smoothly
  • Be the point of contact for sustainability information and know where to find the answer if needed
  • Monday is key to making sure the audience ‘Leave the fields as they found them’
  • All infrastructure is in place the Ecobonds Changemaker Volunteers are being proactive in the campsites
  • Any Ecobond issues are collated and concisely handed over
