Boomsatsuma is a proudly independent educator delivering industry-connected creative education for 16-year-olds and up in Bristol and the South West, from college courses through to degrees, in art and design, television and filmmaking, photography, game design, digital media and sports media.
As our Outreach and Engagement Coordinator, you’ll plan, design and deliver workshops, sessions and projects in schools, colleges, community and our own settings that give young people a real taste of creative learning. It’s a hands‑on role with genuine creative input in which you’ll help shape what we deliver, as well as deliver it.
What you’ll do
- Design and run engaging workshops and sessions, and pull together the logistics that make them work
- Work alongside our Outreach Lead on school and college visits, talks and fairs
- Help bring our open events, taster sessions and interview days to life
- Build lasting relationships with teachers, careers leads and community partners
- Reflect on what we deliver and feed back on its impact
- Lead our student ambassadors in supporting activity
- Capture the moments worth celebrating, so our marketing team can share them
What you’ll bring
- Experience planning and delivering activities for young people
- Hands‑on skills in at least one creative discipline, such as filmmaking, photography, game design, art and design or digital media
- Confidence in front of a group, and the ability to connect with young people, families and teachers
- Strong organisation, with an eye for the detail that makes a session run well
- A real interest in the creative industries, and in opening them up to everyone
Please Note
The post is offered initially on a 12-month fixed‑term contract, with the intention of moving to a permanent contract, subject to performance and organisational need. Some evening and weekend work is required. The post is subject to an enhanced DBS check. A driving licence would be an advantage.
