The Local Partnerships & Events Manager will be responsible for driving local awareness, footfall and revenue at BOOM BATTLE BAR Cardiff through best-in-class event planning, partnerships, community engagement and brand activation. This role is about creating a true local heartbeat - making BOOM the place people talk about, tag, and choose for nights out, student socials and group occasions. You are the local face of the brand, bringing joy overload to life on the ground.
Key responsibilities
- Events & experiences (B2C)
- Own the planning, scheduling and execution of a compelling local events calendar, including: Quiz/Trivia Nights, Boozy Bingo, Live performances / Battle of the Bands, Student nights, One-off and seasonal moments, New ideas!
- Work with senior central marketing team to ensure events are: On-brand, Well-promoted, Commercially viable, Continuously optimised based on performance.
- Work closely with venue ops to ensure seamless delivery on the night.
- Influencers, PR & partnerships
- Source, build earned relationships with and manage local influencers, creators and tastemakers supported by Joli influencer app and Senior Marketing Exec.
- Identify and secure local press, listings and affiliate opportunities.
- Explore and build contra and paid partnerships with: Brand ambassadors/local influencers, Universities and student groups, Local businesses, Hospitality, music and nightlife communities.
- Actively pitch BOOM events and experiences to relevant local platforms.
- Local Communications
- Own and champion local communications for BOOM BATTLE BAR Cardiff, ensuring the venue has a consistent, engaging and relevant presence within the local market.
- Work closely with the Senior Marketing Executive to plan and deliver Cardiff-specific content across BOOM UK's social channels.
- Write and deploy targeted local email, SMS and app campaigns to drive awareness, bookings and event attendance.
- Manage local marketing activity, including flyering, grassroots promotion and community outreach.
- Monitor performance of local communications, sharing insights and recommendations to improve engagement, reach and conversion.
- Identify reactive and cultural moments relevant to Cardiff audiences and turn them into timely marketing opportunities.
- Ensure all local communications are aligned with BOOM's brand tone of voice whilst reflecting the unique personality of the Cardiff venue.
- Student & community strategy
- Revamp and own the late-night student and industry strategy for Cardiff: How we attract new students/industry? How we stand out vs competitors? How we consistently deliver well-attended student nights?
- Build strong relationships with: Student unions, Societies, Student ambassadors, Industry connections.
- Use feedback and data to refine offers, timing and messaging.
- Commercial & performance focus
- Support revenue growth through: Increased event attendance, Improved midweek and off-peak performance, Higher awareness of group bookings and add-ons.
- Track performance of events and partnerships.
- Share learnings and best practice with the wider marketing team.
- Brand & presence
- Own the mile: be the visible, recognisable face of BOOM BATTLE BAR Cardiff.
- Actively participate in the local scene: Attend events, Network, Build genuine relationships.
- Support bringing the central brand activation ideas to life in Cardiff.
- Champion the BOOM brand values locally and ensure the venue feels embedded in the city.
