Bookouture is an award-winning, dynamic global publisher of bestselling commercial fiction. Our unique publishing model and transformative campaigns have created unrivalled international author brands. We connect stories, authors and readers around the world, publishing books that reflect the diversity of the societies we live in. Our submissions are always open as we believe that everyone should have the opportunity to share their story. Bookouture is a division of Hachette, one of the largest publishing groups in the UK, with 11 publishing divisions and over 60 imprints. Everyone here is proud to be in the business of opening doors and minds.
As our Head of Digital Marketing and Campaigns, you will be instrumental in shaping Bookouture's marketing future. Collaborating closely with the Digital Marketing and Campaigns Director, you will contribute to our comprehensive marketing and communications strategy, driving innovative and results-driven campaigns across all our publishing programmes: Bookouture, Second Sky, and Translate.
A core responsibility will be leading our digital advertising efforts, setting strategy and managing campaigns across platforms like Facebook, Instagram, Amazon, Google, TikTok, and Bookbub. You'll also design and execute creative branding campaigns for high-potential authors and titles, continuously analysing performance to identify growth opportunities and optimise our approach. This includes overseeing testing programmes and collaborating with external freelancers and agencies.
You’ll play a pivotal role in our organic social media, working with the Communications team to develop engaging strategies for Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, and X/Bluesky, ensuring alignment with paid advertising for fully integrated campaigns. Overseeing reporting to assess account performance and identify effective content will be key.
Email marketing will be another core area of focus, where you'll develop and oversee the strategy across all campaigns, executing paid and organic acquisition initiatives to expand subscriber lists and drive continuous improvement in performance.
Beyond campaign execution, you'll demonstrate a strong growth mindset and owner mentality, providing insights and guidance to the Communications team, monitoring budgets for strong ROI, and presenting key performance insights and strategic recommendations to senior management. You’ll drive expansion into new marketing channels while optimising existing platforms.
You’ll regularly present developments and reports in company meetings and design marketing strategy for authors at acquisition and re-contracting meetings. Furthermore, you will be instrumental in developing our Communications team: line managing direct reports, training the team in commercial and analytical decision-making, ensuring quality control, and supporting recruitment. Staying current with industry developments and emerging marketing technologies is paramount. You’ll analyse market trends to maintain our competitive advantage and share insights to recommend innovative approaches, contributing to cross-functional meetings within Bookouture and Hachette.
