Role Description: The Product Manager People Technology is end-to-end support for all product deliverables in her/his respective product area and to provide input to the overall HR product roadmap. The Product Manager People Technology works with the Functional owners who are usually positioned in the Centers of Expertise (e.g. C&B, Talent, L&T) or in People Operations (e.g. Payroll, Absence Management, Life cycle Management) to ensure that People systems and technologies are leveraged to deliver effective and (cost) efficient processes. The Product Manager People Technology is accountable for the full life cycle of their solutions: inspiration, requirements gathering, vendor selection, solution design and configuration, deployment, sustain, adoption and solution retirement and thus the Total Costs of Ownership (TCO for their respective solutions. With regards to the execution, the Product Manager People Technology works closely with the People Technology and IT Services teams who will be responsible for many of the deliverables specifically integration in overall Booking ERP, Vendor management, Config and development and Run/Sustain strategy.
Key Job Responsibilities and Duties:
- Discovery and Ideation: Scan the latest technology trends in the respective product area and share insights with functional owners to drive innovation.
- Priority Setting: Understand sub-functional strategies, processes, and collaborate with functional owners to align on priorities and plans.
- Business Case: Provide input on business cases with a focus on product deliverables to help functional owners make informed decisions.
- Solution Design and Configuration: Translate functional/business requirements into technology solutions leveraging vendor processes and functionalities, emphasizing standardization and user-centric design. Provide configuration inputs and support testing activities.
- Deployment and Delivery: Collaborate with regional and People Systems teams to deploy technology solutions based on established priorities and plans.
- Sustain and Value Management: Ensure continuous solution operation and maintenance, manage escalations, and maximize value through adoption and continuous improvement activities using OPEX methodology.
- Architecture and Collaboration: Work with People Systems solution architects and vendors to ensure integration into Booking.com’s technology landscape, manage release strategies, conduct security assessments, and participate in co-innovation activities.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Business Acumen: Good understanding of business processes and strategy in the respective area, with a deep knowledge of People systems and technologies owned.
- Track Record: Proven track record in taking ownership and successfully delivering results in a fast-paced environment.
- System Engineering Knowledge: Good understanding of basic system engineering, information and risk guidelines, and system architecture standards.
- HR Sub-Functional Insight: Solid understanding of HR sub-functional area, including strategy, processes, and best practices.
- HR Cloud Solutions: Good working knowledge of Workday and other HR cloud solutions.
- IT Methodologies: Understanding of contemporary IT methodologies such as Agile, Waterfall, Design Thinking, Process Mapping, and Project Management.
- Technical Understanding: Basic knowledge of APIs, Architecture, SaaS, PaaS, and DaaS, coupled with a curious, self-driving, inspirational, business-driven, and cost-conscious attitude.
