The Account Specialist is part of the Fintech Commercial team, the unit in charge of identifying, executing and managing all commercial opportunities to be implemented through third‑party partnerships, looking to enable the FinTech business unit’s vision. The team is responsible for directly owning relationships that bring hundreds of USD millions in efficiencies and/or upside to Booking.com every year. The candidate will have an opportunity to help shape and drive team initiatives from the earliest stages.
Role Description: As an Account Specialist, you will run day‑to‑day account management tasks for assigned payment partners, including performance monitoring, incident coordination, and stakeholder follow‑ups. You will prepare materials for QBRs and commercial touchpoints, and support contract renegotiations under guidance from Commercial Managers & Senior Account Specialists. You’ll work with internal stakeholders across the FinTech Commercial, Product and Analytics teams to ensure our partners are performing at their peak. You may also work with a smaller set of partner relationships to identify new strategic opportunities, run business reviews, and project manage contractual work within the accounts alongside the Senior Account Specialist.
Key Job Responsibilities and Duties:
- Run and/or support with the day‑to‑day management of payment partner accounts
- Monitor performance and operations for assigned payment partners
- Coordinate incidents both internally and externally as they arise and follow up to ensure issues have been solved
- Support Commercial Managers & Senior Account Specialists in contract negotiations and QBRs
- Support & coordinate short‑to‑mid‑term projects that optimize payment partner performance
- Attend and support in in‑person partner meetings
- Advocate for partner performance optimization opportunities with internal teams
- Assist with onboarding and setting up new partners
Qualifications & Skills:
- 1‑3 years of experience in partner/business development or account management, ideally in a payments, e‑commerce or FinTech environment
- Ability to manage projects across multiple departments and stakeholders
- Ability to effectively present up to Director level
- Strong communications and analytical skills
- Passionate about FinTech & the payments industry: seeks opportunities to optimize existing commercial partnerships, communicates the business’s needs, and builds long lasting, impactful business relationships
