Senior Director Engineering - Connected Trip Experience & Data

b Overview /b p In this leadership role you steer the Connected Trip Experience, Foundations and Data within Booking.com’s Marketplace, guiding a large, multi-team engineering function. You partner with Product and Data to deliver scalable, AI-enhanced customer experiences at high traffic, while shaping engineering practice and strategy. You will foster a high-trust, inclusive culture and drive rapid delivery aligned with business goals. Your work shapes how travellers experience connected trips across platforms and services. /p b Responsibilities /b ul li Lead technology organisations for Connected Trip Product Experience, Foundations and Data /li li Partner with Product Data to plan and deliver objectives /li li Embed Gen AI into customer experiences, workflows and data platforms /li li Raise organisation maturity for speed, focus and resilience /li li Engage and align stakeholders across technology and non‑tech domains /li li Lead by example, manage Directors/Senior Managers and top technical talent /li li Communicate strategy effectively and foster an inclusive, high-performing culture /li li Shape technology strategy, architecture, and roadmaps across the function /li li Drive Agile and DevOps practices; own delivery and architectural governance /li li Own and evolve architecture across the function /li li Mentor and develop senior tech leaders and build a world-class team /li /ul b Key requirements /b ul li Extensive tech leadership experience at scale /li li Experience with large-scale platforms and high traffic (100,000+ visitors/day) /li li Proven track record leading cross-functional engineering organizations (150–200+ people) /li li Strong background building high-quality web and mobile apps for consumer use /li li Experience in Agile environments and fostering an Agile culture /li li Ability to align engineering and business strategy over medium/long term /li li Experience coaching senior tech leaders and growing teams /li li Independent, pragmatic, proactive work attitude /li li Excellent communication and commercial acumen /li li Willingness to deputise for VP of Engineering /li li Cloud-based technologies /li li Building a DevOps culture /li /ul ul li strong communication /li li collaboration /li li leadership by example /li li AI adoption and Gen AI integration /li li data AI products services /li li architecture and engineering best practices /li /ul
