This role is for a Data Analyst II within the Trips Data Science & Analytics team, reporting to the Senior Manager of DS&A in Manchester. The successful candidate will design, build, and deploy data solutions that enhance the customer experience across all trips products.
Responsibilities include:
- Data consumption, preparation, analysis, visualization, and peer review.
Key Job Responsibilities and Duties:
- Own the design and delivery of end‑to‑end Data Analytics solutions based on business requirements.
- Consume and prepare data for analytical use, translating business problems into data stories.
- Apply advanced data analysis and visualization techniques to answer business questions efficiently.
- Identify and manage stakeholders across operational, project‑based, and managerial roles; communicate findings clearly.
- Adopt existing and propose new analytics approaches, continuously expanding technical competencies.
- Collaborate with peers in related crafts such as Data Engineering to anticipate data needs and validate work through peer review.
- Influence business decisions within the product team.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Master’s degree or equivalent experience in a quantitative field (e.g., Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science).
- PhD or 3+ years of experience in data analysis.
- Experience using data mining techniques with statistical rigor.
- Strong storytelling skills when presenting data.
- Proficiency in using insights from disparate data sources.
- Ownership, stakeholder management, and prioritisation skills.
- Commercial acumen with the ability to identify opportunities and threats.
- Technical skills: Hadoop, R, SQL, Python, Excel. Tableau knowledge is beneficial.
- Balancing accuracy and efficiency in analytics.
- Ability to distill complex technical information for non-technical audiences.
