Our Distribution Centres are fast-paced, high-volume environments where accuracy, teamwork and a focus on safety are essential. As a Warehouse Operative at our Booker site in Wellingborough, you will play a key role in ensuring our customers receive the right products, on time, every time. Wellingborough is a modern, multi-temperature food service site handling grocery, fresh and frozen products.
You will pick and assemble customer orders into cages using an arm-mounted terminal, working towards a minimum performance target and supporting the smooth flow of goods through the operation. There is excellent scope for training, development and progression, including opportunities to train on LLOPs and FLTs in selected areas. This role requires successful candidates to work any 5 days from 7, including weekends. Shift hours are 06:00 – 14:00.
Responsibilities:
- Picking, assembling and loading customer food orders for delivery
- Using an arm-mounted terminal to pick accurately and work towards performance targets
- Packing a wide range of products including ambient, dry goods, frozen and chilled items
- Working across multi-temperature areas including Ambient, Chilled (+2°C), Freezer (-25°C)
- Receiving, storing and stacking stock correctly to prevent damage
- Maintaining a clean, safe and legally compliant working environment
- Working with integrity to ensure stock requirements are met and customer orders are fulfilled accurately and on time
Qualifications:
- Flexibility and adaptability in a fast‑paced warehouse environment
- A basic understanding of Health & Safety
- Good literacy and numeracy skills
- A positive, organised and professional approach
- The ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Previous warehouse experience is desirable but not essential
- The role is physically demanding, with lifting required up to 20kg
We have LLOPs and FLTs in operation on site, and successful individuals may be offered the opportunity to train on these in selected areas.
