We are excited to be recruiting for Class 1 drivers to join our Transport Team at our Booker Retail Partners in Wellingborough. In this position, you will be delivering caged goods to stores, ensuring that the loads are secured correctly and that the goods are delivered on time, offloaded in the correct manner, paperwork is signed, and any agreed waste or cages are collected to be returned. Overtime opportunities are also available, and fully funded CPC training hours are provided.
This is a rotating shift pattern: Week 1 - Monday to Friday / Week 2 - Tuesday to Saturday.
Responsibilities:- All relevant legislation is fully adhered to at all times.
- Upholding good Customer Service relations with stores at all times.
- Monitoring and reporting any defects or damages on the condition of the Company’s equipment.
- Ensuring accidents are reported.
- Adhering to Company Procedures with regards to loads & security.
- Adhering to Company Policy in relation to Mobile Phone and Distraction whilst Driving Policy.
- Adhering to safe working practices to ensure the safety of yourself and others at all times.
- Ensuring that the vehicle is in good condition at the start and finish of your shift.
- Working autonomously as well as part of the wider transport team.
- Ensuring that the vehicle is secure and locked when not in use.
- Class 1 Licence Holder for at least 6 months.
- Driver CPC Holder.
- Ability to deliver excellent customer service.
- Experience of multi-drop; temperature controlled food deliveries preferred, but not essential.
- Routes vary daily and therefore successful applicants will need to be flexible in work and hours of work (including at short notice).
Please note, applicants will not be considered if they have more than 6 points on their licence, 'Careless Driving', prosecution for mobile phone use or drink driving or have failed to comply with 'Construction of Use'.
