About the role

To lead, motivate and manage a team of approximately 35 warehouse operatives across the am shift, ensuring the safe, efficient, and accurate picking and dispatch of goods in a fast‑paced distribution environment. The role is critical in driving performance, maintaining high operational standards, and supporting continuous improvement. You will ensure that the receiving, storing, picking and dispatch of Goods in the correct manner to agreed productivity levels and within budgetary constraints. The working hours for this role are 10pm - 6am with flexibility to cover other shifts on occasions when the business needs. Days will be 5 days from 7 Sun-Thursday or Monday - Friday.

You will be responsible for:

  • Lead and manage warehouse teams across, ensuring clear communication and consistent standards.
  • Drive operational performance to meet productivity, accuracy, and service level targets.
  • Plan and allocate resources effectively to meet daily workload and peak demand.
  • Monitor KPIs (e.g. pick rates, accuracy, attendance) and take corrective action where required.
  • Promote a strong health & safety culture, ensuring compliance with company policies and legal standards.
  • Coach, develop and support champions and operatives to improve capability and engagement.
  • Manage performance, conduct reviews, and address any conduct or capability issues in line with HR policies.
  • Ensure efficient workflow in a high-volume, fast‑moving warehouse environment.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity and reduce waste.
  • Work collaboratively with other departments (Transport, senior managers, health & Safety along with HR).

You will need

To be successful in this role you'll have working knowledge of the Warehouse function within the FMCG distribution industry as well as working knowledge of the business and operational aspects of supervising a depot Warehouse operation. General knowledge of the Transport function would be an advantage.
