Job Summary
Lead, motivate and manage a team of approximately 35 warehouse operatives in the A‑shift, ensuring the safe, efficient and accurate picking, receiving and dispatch of goods. This role drives performance, maintains high operational standards and supports continuous improvement.
The receiving, storing, picking and dispatch of goods must be performed in the correct manner to meet agreed productivity levels and stay within budgetary constraints.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage warehouse teams, ensuring clear communication and consistent standards.
- Drive operational performance to meet productivity, accuracy and service level targets.
- Plan and allocate resources effectively for daily workloads and peak demand.
- Monitor KPIs (pick rates, accuracy, attendance) and take corrective action where required.
- Promote a strong health & safety culture, ensuring compliance with company policies and legal standards.
- Coach, develop and support champions and operatives to improve capability and engagement.
- Manage performance, conduct reviews and address conduct or capability issues in line with HR policies.
- Ensure efficient workflow in a high‑volume, fast‑moving warehouse environment.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity and reduce waste.
- Work collaboratively with other departments (Transport, senior managers, health & safety and HR).
Work Hours and Shifts
The working hours for this role are 10:00 pm – 6:00 pm with flexibility to cover other shifts on occasions when the business needs. The schedule is five days a week, typically from 7 pm.
